We don't go into journalism to be popular. It is our job to seek the truth and put constant pressure on our leaders until we get answers. -Helen Thomas

Hi there! I'm Jennsen Bentley, a citizen journalist based in New Orleans. I'm so glad you found your way to my website!

I've been living in New Orleans for the past 5 years, and I've fallen in love with the city's vibrant culture, rich history, and diverse community. As a transmasculine nonbinary person, I'm proud to be part of the LGBTQ+ community here, and I'm passionate about using my platform to promote social justice.

I'm currently pursuing a BA in Communications with an emphasis on New Media from Southern New Hampshire University, where I'm learning how to harness the power of digital media to tell compelling stories and engage with audiences in new and innovative ways.

When I'm not working, I'm spending time with my husband of 22 years and our four amazing children, who range in age from 14 to 21. They keep me grounded and remind me every day why I'm doing this work.

My mission as a journalist is simple: to shine a light on the issues that matter most to the people of New Orleans, and to do so with honesty, integrity, and compassion. I believe that good journalism can make a real difference in people's lives, and I'm committed to doing my part to make that happen.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you'll stick around to see what I'm working on next!
